NOTICE OF RACE

The 2010 Hanse Yachts PHRF-NE Championships
Friday, Saturday & Sunday
August 27, 28 & 29, 2010

Host Clubs: Boston Yacht Club, Corinthian Yacht Club and Eastern Yacht Club

Venue: yachts rated 140 and lower in the racing divisions will race Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cruiser/Racer yachts with a rating of 141 and higher, plus all cruising class yachts will race Saturday and Sunday only. Similar boats with 8 or more entries will be given their own start, e.g. J 105. New this year is a Daysailor 2 day racing class limited to Alerion 33 & 38's, J 100's, E 33's and Sabre Spirit. All races will count as Mass Bay qualifiers for all classes.  See www.phrfne.org  and/or www.massbaysailing.org  web sites for further details. 

Entry Fees: fees will vary according to the individual boat size and will be detailed in the Notice of Race. Deadline for entries will be August 13, 2010. A late entry fee of $25.00 will result for all entries received after August 13, 2010.

Captains' Meeting and Final Registration: will be 1900 hours Thursday, August 26, 2010 for all yachts Location and further details will be provided in the "Notice of Race" announcement. Skipper's race packet containing full information will be distributed at that time. Captains will be held responsible for any information and /or instructions issued at the meeting and provided in the race packet.

Classes: the fleet will be divided by rating at the discretion of the Event Committee and will consist of approximately 15 boats per class. In addition one-design classes are expected. See NOR for further details

Starting Lines, Finish Lines, Time Limits and Signals: information will be provided in the Skipper's race pack. Conditions permitting there will be no limit on races each day.

Special Conditions: ORC Category 5 regulations and Mass Bay Sailing Association General Instructions will be in force except as modified in the Special Instructions for the event. The Race Committee will monitor radio channels per Special Instructions. Low point scoring will be used.

Trophies: 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th place overall trophies for each class will be awarded after the races at the Eastern Yacht Club on Sunday August 29, 2010. Day prizes will be awarded each day at the Eastern Yacht Club.

Social  Activities: all captains and crew are invited to share the facilities of the Boston, Corinthian and Eastern Yacht Clubs during the weekend. Special social events are planned.
